RE    :  PASTORAL LETTER AND PRAYER FOR THE 6TH  YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE DIOCESE OF CUBAO

Dear Rev. Monsignori, Fathers, Brothers and Sisters:

The Love and Peace of Jesus the High Priest!

Our 6th Year Anniversary as a Diocese is fast approaching and in our last Board of Consultors Meeting, August 6, 2009, we agreed as it was discussed last year (in the Board of Consultors Meeting) that we will only highlight every five years anniversary.  The other anniversaries will be observed in the parish level.  Enclosed is a prayer that can be used as Post Communion Prayer.  We offer our praise and thanksgiving to the Lord as we celebrate our 6th anniversary as a diocese.

We thank God for the success we have achieved the past five and a half years to live our commitment to our Pastoral Agenda with Nine Priorities.  We ask for the grace that we will have a renewed and a deeper commitment to our Pastoral Program with our Five Point Priority Agenda for the Year 2009-2011.

As we observe the Year of the Priests, we continue to pray for their sanctification and renewal.  We also pray for more vocations to the priesthood and religious life.

We remember the words of St. John Mary Vianney: “The Priesthood is the love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus!”

The Lord bless, guide and keep you!  May He let His face shine on you and be gracious to you.

PRAYER FOR THE SIXTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE DIOCESE OF CUBAO ON THE OCCASION OF THE YEAR FOR PRIESTS

Most Loving Father,

you are the eternal shepherd

who never leaves his flock untended.

From the beginning of time,

you have always sent shepherds

to watch over your flock.

In this Year for Priests,

we pray for all the shepherds you sent

to take care of the diocese.

We pray for our bishop,

that, as the chief shepherd of the local Church,

he may teach us with his words

and inspire us with his examples.

We pray for all priests,

that, as co-workers of the bishop,

they may be faithful to their priestly duties

and lovingly guide the people entrusted to them.

We pray for all of us,

that, as partners in the mission of the Church,

we may offer ourselves to contribute meaningfully

to the building up of God’s kingdom among us.

We ask this through Jesus Christ, Your Son,

who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,

one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Mapagmahal na Ama,

Ikaw and pastol na laging pumapatnubay sa iyong kawan.

Noon pa man, Ikaw na ang pumipili ng mga pastol

na mangangalaga sa iyong bayan.

Sa pagdiriwang ng Taon ng mga Pari,

idinadalangin namin ang lahat ng mga pastol

na isinugo mo upang mangalaga sa diyosesis ng Cubao.

Idinadalangin namin ang aming mahal na Obispo,

bilang punong pastol ng sambayanan,

ang kanyang mga salita nawa ay makapagturo sa amin

at ang kanyang mga halimbawa ay makapagbigay ng lakas.

Idinadalangin namin ang lahat ng mga pari,

bilang katuwang na manggagawa ng Obispo,

maging matapat nawa sila sa kanilang mga tungkulin

at maging gabay sa kawang ipinagkatiwala sa kanila.

Idinadalangin namin ang lahat  ng mga sumasampalataya,

bilang katuwang sa pagtupad sa misyon ng Simbahan,

maialay nawa namin ang aming mga sarili

upang makapag-ambag sa pagtataguyod ng Iyong Paghahari.

Hinihiling namin ito sa pamamagitan ni Hesukristong Anak mo,

nabubuhay at naghaharing kasama mo at ng Espiritu Santo,

iisang Diyos, magpasawalang hanggan, Amen.
